GRANT APPROVALS
All grants for funding in excess of $25,000 must be approved by the Martin County School Board prior to grant submission. The Superintendent's Cabinet reviews grant applications at their weekly meetings. Currently, the School Board meets the 3rd Tuesday each month; agenda items with all documentation and required signatures are due in the Superintendent's Office by 4:00PM the Wednesday prior to the board meeting. To allow adequate time for your grant request to be channeled through the appropriate departments, please submit your grant application to the Grants Office at least one week prior to the posted agenda deadline. The School Board meeting dates and agenda due dates for the 2006-2007 school year are listed below.
As you can see, most grants will need to be completed two to four weeks before the grant submission deadline in order to obtain the proper school board approval. The one exception to this rule is for funding opportunities that are posted less than 30 days prior to the due date. In that case, and with permission from the Superintendent's Office, applications may be submitted pending School Board approval - a grant agenda item must be prepared for the next possible cabinet meeting.
For further information on submitting grant agenda items, please contact the Grants Office at 219-1200, ext. 30266.
